Site Search Service Limits

The SearchStax Site Search solution has some limitations to ensure stability and performance for all users and client applications.

The types of limits include:

  • Subscription Level: Limits which apply to the overall Subscription Plan.
  • App Level: Limits which apply to one Search App.
  • Other Technical: Technical limits per feature

Subscription Level Limits

Your subscription plan includes limits on each of the following: monthly search requests, max number of items indexed, number of apps, and analytics history retention timeline.  Refer to your subscription agreement for details.

SearchStax attempts to proactively notify clients who are approaching their requests-per-month limit. Sometimes we cannot get a response before the limit is reached. At that point, the system temporarily suspends query service, returning HTTP 429 “Limit Exceeded” errors or HTTP 500 “internal service” errors. Contact the SearchStax Support Desk for help.

* The Site Search “Max Search Requests per Month” is incremented by calls to the /select or /emselect endpoints.
